Center for Talented Youth JHU/CTY, Disability Management Team From Left to Right: Mr. Jim Smerbeck, Ms. Linda Noell, Mr. Andrew Moss, President Ronald J. Daniels, Ms. Melissa Kistler, Ms. Katherine Kidd, Ms. Mary (Liz) Albert Originally, the disability support services team at CTY was established to provide simple support requests for accommodations to a small population. The service at CTY has evolved to become an entire program that addresses issues of inclusiveness and access for children that seek an academic experience. The program provides residential, day or online environments for the disabled youth community. Today, the Center supports more than 300 children per year with medical, physical and psychological conditions.
The philosophy of the team is “to provide a secure and confidential environment by which families may disclose disability conditions which necessitate accommodations.” Through this commitment, the team has established a confidential hotline where parents are able to feel comfortable disclosing and making inquiries regarding disability issues. The team is kept abreast of the latest changes regarding disability laws by attending training workshops, conferences and events. Congratulations Disability Management Team!
